Job and Career Center Available!

Looking for a job?
Come and visit the Job and Career Center at the
Columbus Public Library.

In this workspace, located on the second floor in our Reference Department, you will find two computers offering extended usage periods with programs such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Publisher, and Powerpoint to facilitate your Resume and Presentation needs.  These computers also offer limited Internet access to provide access to employer web pages and employee resources.

If you are interested in using this specialized workspace, simply ask any attendant at the circulation desk, and when asking for a computer ask to use the Job Center.  We will be glad to assist you in any way necessary.

If you would like to use this feature you can simply goto our Reference section on the Website and click on “Testing Resources” and then click on the “Learn A Test” link provided (or you can click on the direct link below and see what they have to offer).

YOU WILL NEED A SPECIAL CODE FROM US TO REGISTER, but it only takes a few seconds to complete the registration.

World Book Encylopedia Online !!

 The World Book Encyclopedia is available online from our library’s website under the Reference directory.

This online site is designed for diverse ages, reading levels and learning styles. You can find teacher resources, standards, correlations and many other useful tools.

By entering your local library’s card number, with no spaces or dashes, you may access the World Book online sites which include World Book Kids, World Book Student, World Book Advanced and World Book Discovery.

November 17, 2010

If dates and times change it will be posted at the Circulation Desk in each of the branch libraries of the Columbus-Lowndes Public Library system

Anyone who wishes to bring a matter before the Board must write to:

Interlibrary Loan Requests Forms Now Online!!

Now Online!!

Can’t find what you are looking for in our catalog?  Fill out an Interlibrary Loan Request (ILL) form and we will be glad to request it for you from another library.

 These forms can be found at the Circulation Desks of the libraries or now on our website at www.lowndes.lib.ms.us.   Just under the Library Catalogue search button to the right of the page, you may click where it says “interlibrary loan form”, fill it out and send it.  We will then contact you by email when your item has arrived.
